tl;dr: put your money in index funds only.

I read “The Simple Path to Wealth” last week. tl;dr: put your money in index funds only.
So I reallocated all of my accounts (401k, IRA, brokerages) to index funds.
I lost thousands of dollars in the past trying to time the market: crypto crashes, swing trading, stocks that were going to be the next big thing (GameStop anyone?).
I realized the best path to investing is…boring.
A friend of mine buys a bit of index and crypto every week. Doesn’t matter what the price is. Same amount, same time. I admire that discipline. And since the market has always gone up and to the right (even after major crashes), dollar cost averaging works in your favor.
Index funds: set it and forget it.
Safe(ish) hands > Diamond hands.

P.S. I had zero interest in the Figma IPO. It skyrocketed? Whatevs. It crashed? Idc. I’m sure I’ll be tempted by something shiny in the future though.
