Leveling yourself up is better than having FAANG on your resume

I haven’t worked at a FAANG company, but I’ve worked with FAANG alumni. So I’ve been wondering how to get some of that prestige second-hand.

I’m half-joking.

The most influential people that shaped my career weren't from FAANG. They were people with excellent work ethic, deep craft expertise, and inspiring vision.

In fact, I only have one FAANG person on my personal board of directors.

Badges of honor matter, but you can also cultivate that by leveling yourself up and by surrounding yourself with exceptional people.

Leveling yourself up is more sustainable than resume candy.
