I asked my nephew what the Ravens' record was.
"Six."
He hesitated. He was a devoted fan. He could rattle off every Ravens stat you could possibly imagine. But simply stating his team's record threatened to cheapen his fandom to a trivial meme. Alas, a true fan must speak facts.
"Seven."
